Agricultural PRODUCTS
Risk Profile
We are risk averse and hence don’t engage in speculative positions. Our relationships with service providers and financial institutions enable us to supply in and out of season and fix forward prices for suppliers and customers.
Trading strategy
Our success is determined by the price, quality, and service offered by our team during the supply process. Our horizontal structure dictates involvement from the entire team. Our experienced traders simplified our model to offer daily prices for spot or forward deliveries, sourced from primary producers or intermediaries. We source from the most competitive institution without fear or favor. This translates to a diversified resource network that enable us to transact volume on a back to back basis.
Funding options
We offer generous terms to approved customers and tailor the funding option to match the exact requirement.

As part of a diversification strategy, AGRISA started desks that is not correlated with risks associated with the Agricultural industry. This led to the establishment of our coal and mineral desks. We ventured into coal trading in May 2017, and since then established a presence in the domestic market trading coal products to end users. Our coal is sourced from various coal producers within South Africa and focuses on beneficiated products.
We supply sized product to the Boiler industry, mainly in the form of A or C Grade Washed Peas.
We are investigating the export market for coal ranging from RB1, RB3 to 4800Kcal (0-50mm) products. Currently we are suitably positioned to supply these products to the final exporting parties.
We also trade in fine products such as Duff, Slurry and Spiral to various domestic users or other trading houses.
Our coal trading is supported by a strong inhouse logistics team to allow for on time deliveries to all local clients.

Regulatory Environment
We are a wholesale licence holder in terms of the Petroleum Products Act, 1977 (Act No. 120 of 1977). Licence number – W/2014/0173.
We are permitted to sell to in bulk to Licensed: Manufacturers, Wholesalers, Retailers or End consumers for own consumption.
STRATEGY
- Petroleum is a consumable commodity that continue to decimate margins as companies are unable to completely devolve increases to end-use consumers. Apart from devolving increased costs to consumers, companies also review suppliers to determine that they enjoy competitive prices. AGRISA Fuels has engineered a business model that successfully operate on a “high volume – low margin” basis without compromising on service excellence.
- Risks associated with the logistics of Petroleum Products dictates that we outsource this function in its entirety. We have aligned ourselves strategically with a major logistic company whom we afford a pre-emptive right on all our logistics.
STORAGE SOLUTIONS
We fund diesel storage facilities, supported by fuel management systems for approved customers who conclude long term supply agreements. We manage all environmental, Lupo and related legislative requirements from conceptualization to commission.

We have executed various successful consignments to China and India. Our initial transactions were concentrated in manganese ore and chrome products.
Manganese Ore:
Mn, Chemical Element and atomic number 25, found next to Iron (Fe) and Chromium (Cr) on the periodic table. A naturally occurring mineral in combination with oxides and Iron minerals. Manganese is used primarily in the production of steel, 90-95% of all Mn mined. It is a critical element to the steel making process and the usage is approximately 10kg of Mn per 1000kg of Steel produced. South Africa holds 80-85% of the worlds known Mn ore reserves and produces approximately 50% of all the Mn mined for steel production.
Agrisa Commodities exports and trades Mn ore of various grades for use in the alloy and steel making processes.
Chrome Ore/Concentrate:
Cr (Chromium), Chemical Elements and atomic number 24, found next to Manganese (Mn) on the periodic table. Naturally occurring as the mineral Chromite (Cr2O3) in combination with other oxides and Iron minerals. Cr Ore is used primarily for the production of Stainless Steel. Its properties in the alloy process with iron and nickel produce a corrosion resistent metal capable of withstanding difficult and extreme chemical and temperature environments. South Africa holds 75-85% of the worlds known Cr ore reserves and produces approximately 40% of the all the Cr mined for stainless steel production.
Agrisa Commodities exports and trades Cr ore as Run of Mine (ROM), Lumpy and Concentrate of various grades for the use in the alloy and Stainless Steel making processes.
We are currently investigating international opportunities (complete transaction from procurement to delivery) in related and other minerals trads.
